RALEIGH -- Josephine Taylor Horton, 85, of 4812 Six Forks Road, and formerly of Mitchell Street in Ahoskie, died peacefully Sunday in her home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cool Spring Baptist Church. Eure, NC. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the funeral and the family will greet friends at this time also.
Surviving: daughter, Syvillia H. Lee of Mobile, AL; sons, Henry N. Horton of Fort Worth, TX and W. Joseph "Joe" Horton of Raleigh; half sister, Eris E. Calimer of Virginia Beach, VA; half brothers, Rev. A.J. Eure of Sims and Edsel Eure of Gates County; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Joe and Linda Horton, 3204 Barnsley Lane, Raleigh, NC.
