OBITUARY:
Mrs. Olaves Wallom, aged 65, 821 Eighteenth Avenue, Monroe, died at 5:30 Thursday morning in her home following a 3-year illness.
Jessie A. Mason was born Oct. 8, 1876 in the town of Wiota, the daughter of David Badge and Elizabeth Benson Mason. She attended schools in Monroe. On Sept. 20, 1896, she was married to Olaves Wallom in Blanchardville, Rev. Bledgett reading the service. They had resided in Blanchardville, Monticello, Belleville, Freeport and LaSalle, Ill., before coming to Monroe four years ago. Mr. Wallom is a retired railroad man. Mrs. Wallom was a member of the Women's Relief corps at Belleville, and the Embury Methodist church, Freeport.
Surviving are the widower; a son, Maurice, Chattanooga, Tenn.; a daughter, Grace (Mrs. Henry) Argue, Belleville; three brothers, Harry and Harney of Monroe, and Harlow of Conrath; two sisters, Mrs. Matt Haldiman, Blanchardville, and Mrs. Samuel Baggs, Coloma; and three grandchildren. Her parents, a sister and a brother are deceased.
Last rites were held at 1:30 Sunday afternoon at the Wallom home in Monroe and at 2:30 in Blanchardville Methodist church. Rev. Geo. Bechtoldt, Monroe, and former Blanchardville minister, officiated, assisted by Rev. A. E. Weittenhiller. Burial took place in Graceland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Raymond Meade, Russell Smith, Robert Gould of this place, Ernest Wenger, Jr. of Monroe, Robert Cockroft and Claude Wallom of Belleville.
