~ LAST RITES HELD FOR
ADONIS ROLLO HARE ~
Adonis Rollo Hare, aged 9 years, son of Mrs. W. Baker, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Friday (Jan. 6, 1939) at the Wisconsin General hospital, Madison. He had been a patient at the hospital since Dec. 4th and on Dec. 13th he underwent an operation for tumor of the brain. His condition was favorable until New Year's Day when he suffered a relapse and continued to fail until his death.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Waldemar (Lulu) Baker, step-father Waldemar Baker, grandfather Oliver Gilbertson; three aunts, Thelma and Evelyn Gilbertson and Mrs. Sylvester Adler, Waunakee.

Adonis Rollo Hare was born Sept. 21, 1930 to Mr. and Mrs. Morris Hare at Monroe, Wis. He was baptized by Rev. Houkom Dec. 10, 1929. He spent most of his life in Blanchardville where he attended grade school with the exception of 2 years when he attended school at Hollandale and one year at the Loyalty school.

Adonis was a bright little boy and had many friends among both children and adults. He will be greatly missed in the home and by his many friends.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Oliver Gilbertson home and at 2:00 at the Blanchardville Lutheran church. Rev. Martin J. Olson officiating. Burial was made in Graceland cemetery. Mrs. Martin J. Olson and Ed Thompson Jr. sang at the services at the home and a quartet composed of Mrs. H.A. Disrud, Mrs. Martin J. Olson, Ed Thompson Jr., and Rev. Olson sang at the church. Jakie Unterholzner, Arlin Hanson, Stanley Olson and Herbert Nelson acted as pallbearers. Jeannette Gilbertson, Fola Mae Hanson, Ruth Hanson, Virginia Olson, Bernice Syse and Donna Mae Paulson were flower girls. The teacher and pupils from Loyalty school where Adonis last attended school marched in a body in the procession from the church to the cemetery.
