MRS. MARIE DEMPSEY
Mrs. Marie B. Dempsey, 86, of 114 Plummer St., Oil City, died at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday in the Oil City Area Health Center where she was admitted earlier in the afternoon.
She was born in Victory Heights July 2, 1899, a daughter of Ruben and Frances Allison Heckathorne, and had resided in Oil City since 1918, moving there from Victory Heights.
Mrs. Dempsey was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Oil City.
She was married July 23, 1918, to John M. Dempsey who died Feb. 9, 1968.
Surviving, are two sons, LeRoy Dempsey of Rouseville and John Dempsey of Chicago, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Donald (Bertha) Ace of Cranberry, Mrs. Mildred Coon of Reno, Mrs. Sherman (Dorothy) Beers of Oil City and Mrs. Myrtle Snyder of Franklin; one brother, Lewis Heckathorne of Buffalo, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
A son, Howard G. Dempsey, died in 1984.
Arrangements are in charge of the Louis H. Osenider Funeral Home, Oil City.
