WATERBURY — Mr. Leke Syla, 55, died on Sunday morning, July 22, 2012, at the VITAS Innovative Hospice Care Unit at Saint Mary's Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Bete (Heqimi) Syla.

Leke was born on July 4, 1957, in Kosovo, son of the late Prank and Maria (Lucaj) Syla. He immigrated to the United States in 1989, settling in Norwalk. In 2005 he moved to Waterbury. He had been employed as a printer at Gibson Printing in Norwalk for 16 years and most recently was employed at International Creative Data Industries Inc. in Waterbury.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Marie and Mirena Syla, both of Waterbury; his three brothers, Gjon Syla of Norwalk, Pjeter Syla of Stamford and Dode Syla of Waterbury; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Luz Syla.

Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 25, at 9:15 a.m. from the Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main St., Waterbury, to Saints Peter and Paul Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, July 24, from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
