Suffering a heart attack while sewing patch quilt pieces last evening, Mrs.
Ernst Ansorge, 58, nee Metha Schmidt, died suddenly at her home, 1326 S. Ninth
street.
She was born on Nov. 27, 1877, in the town of Newton, and was united in marriage
with Ernst Ansorge on April 20, 1901. The couple settled on a farm in the town of
Newton, and in 1913 took over the operation of the English Lake resort. At the
time of Mr. Ansorge's death in 1918 his widow came to Manitowoc to reside.
Survivors are five sons, Henry of Wales, Wis.; Fred, Elmer, Louis and Herbert, all
of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Olp and Mrs. George Wilda, both of this city.
She also leaves one brother, Louis Schmidt of Manitowoc and one sister, Mrs. William
Vogelsang, who resides at Riverton, Wyo.
The body is at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home, and will lie in state there
after 7 p.m. Saturday. At 10:30 o'clock Monday morning the body will be moved to
the St. John's Evangelical church, where services will be held at 2 o'clock in the
afternoon with the Rev. Paul Blaufuss officiating. Burial will take place in Evergreen
cemetery.
