MRS. ALTER DEATH VICTIM
Body Is to Be Brought Back To City for Funeral
Mrs. Mary Alter, wife of Fred L. Alter, former city engineer and now vice
president of the Manitowoc Seed company, died early today in a Milwaukee
hospital where she had been a patient for the past week following a nervous
breakdown. She was born April 29, 1897.
The body is to be brought to Manitowoc for burial but no funeral arrangements
have been made.
She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander MacKenzie, Meadow Lane. She was
employed as a clerk in the freight offices of the North Western road here and
was married in 1925. The couple made their home on South 18th street.
Survivors are the husband, parents, three sisters, Mrs. William Reinert, Mrs.
Lloyd Johnson and Miss Catherine, all of this city, and a brother John of
Chicago.
