Mrs. Agnes Johnson, 88, formerly of 1408 Hillcrest Drive, Manitowoc and Shady
Lane Home, Manitowoc, died Sunday afternoon, January 18, 1987 at Memorial
Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Wednesday at Phipps
Memorial Chapel, Manitowoc. Rev. William Plank will officiate with burial to
follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Johnson was born June 4, 1898 at Joliet, Illinois, daughter of the late
Alexander and Agnes Cheville MacKenzie. She was educated in Joliet and was
employed at Mirro Aluminum Company in the general office for many years,
retiring in 1928. She married Lloyd Johnson on June 2, 1928 at Manitowoc. The
couple resided in Manitowoc all their lives. Mrs. Johnson was a member of First
Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Board of Deacons. Mrs. Johnson
was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 196 of Manitowoc and a
member of the Two Rivers-Manitowoc Shine Auxiliary and Knight Templer
Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and
Sharon Johnson of Manitowoc; a daughter and a son-in-law, Donna and Irl Ihrcke
of Waukesha; a sister, Mrs. Kathryn Chermak of Manitowoc; a brother-in-law,
Mr. William A. Reinhardt of Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jean Johnson
of Manitowoc and Mrs. Leona MacKenzie of Port Charlotte, Florida; six
grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in
death by three sisters and a brother.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 7 pm to 9 pm Tuesday
and from 9 am to 11 am on Wednesday and then from 12 noon until the hour of
service at Phipps Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian
Church or Shriners Hospital for crippled children.
