Daughter of Oscar Chancey and Janie Brooks Brooks. Mary married (1) Henry V. Ammons, and (2) Albert Julian Joye.

MARION - Mrs. Mary Brooks Ammons Joye, 85, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001 at Lake Marion Nursing Facility in Summerton after an illness.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Marion Church of God, with the Rev. Allan Black and the Rev. Stafford Fort officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Smith-Collins Funeral Home.

Mrs. Joye was born Jan. 23, 1916 in Horry County, a daughter of the late O.C. Brooks and the late Janie Brooks Brooks. Mrs. Joye had retired from Herbert Mills as a trainer. Mrs. Joye was a member of Marion Church of God.

Mrs. Joye was first married to the late Henry V. Ammons and second to the late Albert Julian Joye.

Surviving Mrs. Joye are a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Dot) Hunsucker of Manning; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Joye was predeceased by a son, Sherrill Ammons.
