Walter S. Hardy Rites Wednesday

Funeral services for Walter S. Hardy, 73, North Enid, who died early Monday in a local hospital after a short illness, will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Justus H. Edmonson will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Contributions in Hardy's memory may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, heart division, with Henninger-Allen as custodian of the funds.

Hardy was born December 23, 1897, near Hamilton, Illinois and moved with his parents to Kansas, then Okeene and Kremlin. Hardy and Lucile Malter were married September 1, 1918, in Enid and lived on a farm at Kremlin until retiring in November, 1957, when they moved to North Enid.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Kremlin. He was preceded in death by his father in 1938; a sister, Mrs. Maude Bircher in 1941; and his mother in 1957.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Forest (Tola) Jenkins, Mrs. Arthur (Frances) Johnson and Mrs. John (Lee) Wuerflein, all of Kremlin and Mrs. LeRayne (Helen) Tefft, North Enid; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ira (Lenore) Johnson, Enid, several nieces and newhews.
