MEDINA — Mr. Fred J. Armagost, of Medina, died suddenly on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Armagost was born in Reynoldsville, PA, Sept. 1, 1927, a son of the late Fred A. and Reba Mae (Sprankle) Armagost. He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. On January 17, 1948, he married the former Barbara N. Streeter. He resided in this area for 27 years, previously living in Niagara Falls. He was employed as a chemical worker.

He loved being around his kids and grandchildren. He enjoyed tinkering and to give advice.

Survivors include his children, Gerald (Paula), Thomas (Diane), Roberta (Gary) Anderson, Wayne (Barbara), David (Kathy), Eileen Jasper, Cheryl (William) Jasper, Randy (Paula) and Barbara (John) Carroll; 110 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother of Neal, Alexander, Shirley Kirkwood, Katherine Dickey and Everett "Skip" Armagost; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife on Dec. 1, 2008; and his son, Kenneth E., on Feb. 1, 2012.

Friends may call on Monday (4-8) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Assn.
