Mr. William Roy "Snook" Smart Jr., 55, of 23 7th St, dies Tuesday Sept 20th, 1988 at the Veterans Hospital in Columbia, SC.
The funeral will be at 11:00 Am on Friday Sept 23rd, at the Central Baptist Church; Rev Ray Talley will be officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in York, SC.
A native of York, SC; Mr. Smart was a member of the SC National Guard and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church, and was a carpenter by trade.
Mr. Smart was proceeded in death by an infant daughter, Annisa Gay Smart.
Surviving are his wife, Jane Huskey Smart of York; his mother Ocie Ovella Huskins Smart of Union; Two sons, Bradley Robert Smart and Anthony Roy Moore of Charlotte; Seven daughters, Angela Jane Smart and Billie Childers of York, Sandra Darlene Burch, Patricia Ann Gordon, and Mary Elizabeth Smith, all of Charlotte, Sherry Doty-Penler of Dartmouth, MA, and Susan Doty Scribner (Ocie) and Kelly Doty Lemen both of California; two bothers, Gerald Smart and Phillip Arthur Smart both of York; Two sisters, Cornelia Gay Copeland of Union and Freida Ferrell of York; and numerous grandchildren.
