Freeman E. Broadwater, age 82, of Smock, Pa., passed away Sunday, March 21, 2004 in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, Pa.

He was born September 18, 1921 in Swanton, Maryland, the son of Benjamin F. and Rachel Jane Broadwater.

Freeman was a Veteran of World War II who served with the United States Army. He was stationed in England where he met and married his wife.

He retired from United States Steel's Clairton Works after 32 years of service.

He was a lifetime member of General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 in Hopwood, Pa., and the V.F.W. Post 47, Uniontown, and was also a member of American Legion Post 51.

Mr. Broadwater was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Leo Kenneth Broadwater, and 12 brothers and sisters.
