Anna M. Walter was born on January 30, 1922 in Lake Henry, Stearns County, MN, the daughter of Frank and Catherine Ann (Weber) Braunger. Shortly after her father's death the family moved to Morgan, where Anna graduated from St. Michael's School. She was united in marriage to George Walter on November 20, 1941 in Morgan, MN. Shortly after their wedding George was drafted into the Army. Anna lived with her in-laws briefly before moving to live with George in Amarillo, Texas. Following George's discharge, they farmed near Clements for forty years, until retiring and moving to Sleepy Eye. In November they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Anna enjoyed the last week of her life living at Lake Villa Maria Apartments. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and the Clements Legion Auxiliary, and a former member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clements.

Anna was a woman of deep faith spending much time praying for others. She enjoyed singing with the German choir, crocheting, gardening, and writing letters. Family was always near and dear to her heart, she loved baking cookies and sharing them with her grandkids. Her exuberance for life will never be forgotten!
