Mary Ann OBrien was born 1-7-1871 in Bunkerhill, Michigan. The daughter of Irish born parents, Patrick and Catherine (Kelly) Obrien.

On 10-4-1892 in Jackson, Michigan she married Frank Briggs. He was 20 and she was 21.

To this union was born one child, Leo Francis on 7-22-1894.

Some time between 1910 and 1919 the family moved to Bunkerhill into the home of Lenora Dunham, a widow. If she was a relative, this is unknown at this time.

Leo joined the service on 7-19-1918 and was stationed at the Great Lakes Training Camp. While there he contracted the Spanish Flu. He was released and returned to Lansing where obtained a job. After a few days, he because ill again. He returned to the Dunham household at that time. His parents were also living there.

3-24-1919 Leo died of pneumonia caused by the influenza. Mary Ann contracted the disease while caring for Leo. She died 4-10-1919. Mrs. Dunham died 5-2-1919 at her home from it also.

Mary Ann is buried by her son in St. Cornelius and Cyprian Parish Cemetery, Bunkerhill, Michigan.
