Richard Johns, aged 81 years, a well known resident of Dunlevy for the past thirty years, died in his home early this morning, April 20, at 12:30 o'clock following a lingering illness. Mr. Johns had been declining in health for several years but was active until last October, since which time he has been confined to his home.
Mr. Johns was born in Redruth, England, March 4, 1848. He came to American at an early age and settled in this valley. He is known throughout this section, having been a member of the Coal valley I.O.O.F. Lodge for the past fifty years. He was probably the oldest Odd Fellow in this section of the state. Mr. Johns also was a member of the Encampment, Iris Rebekah Lodge No. 299, of Charleroi and of the United Brethren church, Dunlevy.
