Biographical sketch written by her niece in 1960: "Aunt Allie was greatly beloved by her family. Her death at nearly 22 years of age brought great grief to them all. She was engaged to be married to Lyford Canine. She was light-hearted and of a very happy disposition, always laughing and cheerful. She was devoted to her church and deeply interested in the Christian life". She was the youngest of 14 children.

In the death of Allie Hanna, youngest daughter of Wm. Hanna, Waveland has lost one of her brightest, most attractive and esteemed young ladies. Miss Hanna was the last born of earth yet the first born of heaven of a family of fourteen children, all of whom survive her. Having suffered much during an illness of two months, she found rest in that sleep that knows no pain or sickness on Friday, Jan. 25, at the house of her sister, Mrs. John Milligan. Her last hours were spent surrounded by loving and sorrowing hearts to whom she gave messages of love and hope. She fell asleep, resting, as she, herself, expressed it, "safe in the arms of Jesus." Her last articulate utterances were an incoherent endeavor to repeat again and again the sweet invitation of Jesus Christ, "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden." The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church, where she had been, for several years, a member. Her many friends, with whom she was a universal favorite, filled the house, while the Rev. J. H. Sammis offered them many comforting thoughts, suggested by the Savior's words, "In my Father's house are many mansions." She was about twenty two years of age.
