SALT LAKE CITY--Funeral services for Carl James Hacking, 71, of Salt Lake City, who died of a heart attack Wednesday, March 2, 1977, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Jenkins-Solfe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St.

Mr. Hacking was the father of Mrs. Max (Lela) Hunting of Lehi.

He was born September 16, 1905 in Vernal, a son of James Clair and Harriet Bodily Hacking. He married Grace Richens on May 27, 1926 in Vernal.

Mr. Hacking was a licensed barber and had been Roosevelt chief of police. During World War II, he served in the Merchant Marines. He also was a carpenter, retiring from Carpenters Local 2202 in Price in 1967.

Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Hunting, Lehi; three grandchildren, two brothers, George R. Hacking, Brigham City and Duane L. Hacking, Granger.

Friends may call at the mortuary tonight between 7 to 8 o'clock or Saturday 30 minutes prior to services. Burial will be in the Lehi City Cemetery.

Son of James Clair Hacking and Harriet Bodily Hacking. He married Grace Leona Richens on 27 May 1926. They had daughter Loa Hacking and son Gale Hacking who died as infants. Lela Hacking was another daughter born to them.
