She was born in West Bend on Jan. 11, 1921 to Frank and Agnes Bales. Rosalie was raised on the family farm in the town of Trenton.
She married Walter Hoeft on Nov. 18, 1942 in Milwaukee. They started a family of their own in West Bend where they resided for the last 63 years.
She was an active volunteer at The Threshold in West Bend, enjoyed various arts and crafts, gardening, flowers and was a very good cook.
Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Walter; three children, Judy Hoeft of West Bend, Mike Hoeft of Kewaskum and Linda (Bob) Friedel of Kewaskum; five grandchildren, Nora Hoeft, Tania, Philip and Becky Friedel, and Aggie (Ross) Severson; two brothers, Alex and Franklin (Margie) Bales; two sisters, Delores (Bob) Hoeft and Sylvia (Eugene) Belunes; and a sister-in-law, Loretta Bales.
She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Sylvester (Alice) and Ray Bales; and a sister-in-law, Marie Bales.
A funeral Mass to honor the life of Rosalie will be held Tuesday, Aug. 1, at noon at the Phillip Funeral Home, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, with Fr. Jeff Haines officiating.
Interment will take place in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, immediately following the service.
