Mr. Weber, 77, of Rochester, operator of a day care service and a former Austin Public Schools employee, died Wednesday (Jan. 19, 2000) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
He was born Oct. 30, 1922, in Stacyville, Iowa. On Oct. 30, 1946, he married Grace E. Diggins in Austin. They farmed in the St. Ansgar, Iowa, area until 1955 and then moved to Mukwonago, Wis., where he was a machinist. In 1960, they moved to Austin and he was a machinist at A & S Parts until 1971 and then worked for Austin public schools until 1987. His wife is a homemaker and while in Austin worked at Hormel Foods Corp. Since moving to Rochester, the couple had operated a day care service. Mr. Weber was a member of Pax Christi Catholic Church. He enjoyed remodeling homes and carpentry work.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Karen Weber of Rochester and Debra (Mrs. Paul) Han of Clifton, Va.; two sons, Ronald and Gary, both of Rochester; two grandchildren; a brother, Arthur of Stacyville; and a sister, Regina (Mrs. Frank) Klecker of Owatonna. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Macken Funeral Home and an hour before the service Saturday at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
