My grandfather's little brother, Vincent McAleer, son of John Bernard McAleer and Margaret A. Mullen, was born 5 April 1883, on the feast day of St. Vincent Ferrer de Valencia, Dominican priest. He was baptized the next day at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Jamaica Plain, Boston; died 27 July 1883, and was buried the day after his death in Mount Benedict's Cemetery, West Roxbury. A death mask was made of little Vincent, and this was kept in the family for all of these years. My daughter Jessica Joslin made this beautiful box to honor him. Shelley Barber visited Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline with me and took several pictures of Vincent's death mask, near the McAleer monument of Vincent's grandfather Patrick. Thank you, Shelley.
