John Junior (Johnnie) was the son of John William Hamilton and Louisa May Crosby, the youngest child. After getting an education, he took over the home farm, farming until 1960, and dedicating himself to caring for his parents until they were gone. During all these years, his mother would not allow him to even have dates with ladies.
After 1960, John decided to try something else, so he sold the farm and started working for Builders Merit Stores. He worked in several branches of the company, and managed a store in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. It was here where he met a very nice lady, Mildred Morgan. On August 17, 1963 he married her, and they made their home in Wetaskiwin.
