John is a Civil War veteran. He enlisted at the age of 30 on 1 Feb 1861. He served in the Ohio 1st Light Artillery Battery where he was promoted to Full Corporal. He mustered out 13 Jan 1863 in Henry House, Virginia. John died in Walla Walla, Walla Walla, Washington 20 Dec 1923.
