Sara May Owens, 86, of Seward, died Wednesday, Nov. 4. She was born near Seward on March 2, 1895, to Joseph and Katherine Angermeir Rousselle. She graduated from Seward High School in 1917 and taught school in Seward County until marrying Everett Owens on Sept. 10, 1919, at the United Methodist Church, Seward. They farmed until several years ago. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Seward, the Country Women's Club and the Leahey Extension Club. She was a past member of the YWCA.
Survivors include her husband, Everett; one sister, Juliette Patterson of Boise, Idaho; nieces and nephews.
Services were held Friday, Nov. 7, at Volzke Mortuary Chapel, Seward, the Rev. Marvin Koelling officiating. Burial was in the Seward Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Carmichael, LeRoy Morgan, Kenneth Owens, Rex Owens, Dwaine Morgan, Delmer Borchers.
