North Carolina, Macon County
Know all men by their presents that we Micajah M. Hall and John Hall are held and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina in the sum of $500 to the payment of which we bind ourselves are heirs and assigns - the condition is such that whereas the above bounds M. M. Hall hath[sic] obtained a license for a marriage to be celebrated between him and Miss Jane Caroline Hyde of the said county.
Now if it shall not hereafter appear that there is any lawful cause or impediment to obstruct said marriage then this obligation to be void - Else remain in full form and virtue.
This December 2nd, 1839.
