Thomas Hyde
Thomas Marion Hyde was born April, 2, 1854 near Bushwell, North Carolina, and died March 31, 1938 at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 29 days. He with Esther Eliza Chambers were united in marriage in the year of 1877. He became a member of the Baptist faith in the year of 1883, and in latter years was a ordained deacon, and has lived a devoted member until death.
He with his family left North Carolina in the year 1902 and moved to Arkansas where they lived 3 years before moving to Oklahoma in 1906, and settled near Cogar, and lived in the vicinity of Cogar and Minco ever since. To this union were born eight children, all living except one son which preceded him in death at the age of 31 years. Those left to morn his death are his companion Esther Eliza Hyde, one son , Phillip M. Hyde of Pawhuska; six daughters, Mrs. Mary Vaeanis of Broken Bow, Mrs. F.A. Dill of Geary, Mrs. R.L. Jester of Taulor, Arkansas, Mrs. C.F. Doak of El Reno, Mrs. J.D. Gibble of Cogar and Mrs.D.B. Goble of Minco; 34 grandchildren , 22 great grandchildren; one brother and one sister of North Carolina, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.D. Barnett, of Chickasha, at the home of Dan V. Goble, in charge of the Wilson Funeral home, Interment was made in the Spring Creek cemetery.
