He was born Nov. 21, 1919, at Calumet, the son of Mike and Boja (Koruga) Skorich. He lived in "White City" attended Marble schools, and had been a resident of the Midway area of Grand Rapids for the past 44 years. He had worked for U.S. Steel for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Vasilije Serbian Orthodox Church, in Chisholm, was an Army veteran of World War II having served in the Normandy, northern France, Germany campaign and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Angeline (Njegovan) Skorich, Grand Rapids; three sons, Steven and Jeff Skorich, both of Minneapolis, and Mark Skorich, Sterling, Va.; a daughter, Suzane Skorich, Minneapolis; a brother, George Skorich, Calumet; a sister, Marie Carmichael, Upland, Pa.; one granddaughter, and three grandsons.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, Mary Mandich and Angeline Wohlsdorf, and three brothers, Joe, John and Milan Skorich.
Funeral: Friday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m. at Peterson Funeral Chapel, Coleraine, with the Rev. Bogdan Zjalic officiating.
Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
