January 28, 1926 - November 21, 2016

Marie J. (Skorich) Carmichael, 90, originally of Calumet, Minn. and formerly of Upland, PA, died of complications of Alzheimer's disease on Monday, November 21st at ManorCare of Voorhees (NJ).

She is survived by her son W. Russell (Linda) of Middletown, PA, two daughters, Judy (Ted) Nevin of Haddon Heights, NJ, and Linda Donovan of Pitman, NJ; grandchildren Amanda (Margaret Foley) Carmichael and Brad Carmichael of Philadelphia, and Erica (Jimmy) Melton of Marble Falls, TX; three great-grandsons, Ethan, Jude, and Cadence, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Her beloved husband, William W., predeceased her in March of 2013.

A Memorial Service will be held on Dec. 9th at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, 4020 Concord Rd., Aston, PA. Visitation 10:00 AM, Service at 11:00 AM. Light refreshments in the church hall will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association. You can donate online at www.alz.org, call them at 800-272-3900, or send a check to the Association at P.O. A true Renaissance woman, Marie was a Rosie the Riveter for a short time while traveling along the West Coast following high school in 1944. After attending the University of Minnesota, she became a hostess with the U.S. Army Special Services at the Herzogenaurach (Herzo) Base in Germany where she met the love of her life, William W., who predeceased her.
She was an accomplished watercolorist, a voracious reader, and a genuine lover of the arts.
Following her retirement from her job as an Office Manager at Lewis, Hopkins & Williamson of Glen Mills, Pa., Marie and Bill tried to enjoy every day until her disease forced them to slow down.
Most important to her, however, was her family. She is survived by her son W.
