Janette Sue Coons, 75, of Callaway, Nebraska, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Center in Callaway. She was born December 26, 1936, in Pound, Virginia, to Lawrence & Lockie (Shortt) Waltz.

She was united in marriage to Gerald Dean Coons in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1956. To this union three boys were born: Rick, Ron & Randy.

Sue lived in various places before settling in Callaway, Nebraska. While married to Gerald they ran Jerry's Tavern in Callaway. Following their divorce, she became an LPN. She spent the next 25 years working in various Good Samaritan Homes in the area.

Sue enjoyed sewing, bowling and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her three sons: Rick Coons of Kearney, Nebraska; Ron and wife Mary Coons of Toledo, Ohio; and
Randy and wife Tami Coons of Callaway, Nebraska; one brother: Tom and wife Maud Waltz of Arkansas; one sister: Ila Ison of Maryland; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry and sister, Charlesie.
There are no services planned at this time.
