Evelyn was born Sept. 16, 1911 in Marystown to parents George and Catherine (Monnens) Geis. She married Raymond J. Hennen on Nov. 10, 1931 at St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church, Marystown. She was a member of the St. Bridget Society, St. Ann Society, St. Michael Altar and Rosary Society, and Rosary Makers Club. Over Evelyn's lifetime, she made over 16,000 rosaries, which went all over the world to various missionaries, prisons, hospitals and Veteran's Homes.
She will be loved and forever missed by her children: Larry (Elaine) Hennen of Prior Lake, Dianne (Don) Kes of Prior Lake, Lyle Hennen of Olive Branch, Miss.; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; sister, Eileen (John) Rezac of Lonsdale; daughter-in-law, Ramona Hennen of Prior Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; son, Gordon Hennen; parents; siblings, Ray (Phil) Geis, Clarence Geis, Paul (Loretta) Geis, Leonette (Andrew) Krautkremer, Elmer (Valarie) Geis, Ann (George) Hruby.
Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 5 p.m. at Church of St. Michael, Prior Lake, with visitation two hours prior to the service at church. Pallbearers were her grandsons, James Kes, Brian Hennen, Greg Kes, John Hennen, Mark Kes, Scott Hennen. Final resting place will be St. Michael's Cemetery, Prior Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Michael?s Catholic School.
