Katrina Mills, 46 years of age, a resident of the Shalersville and Mantua areas the past 21 years, passed away Friday September 25, 2009 at her residence with her family and friends at her side following a month long battle with cancer. Katrina was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on April 19, 1963, the daughter of John J. and Regina (Fern) Zelenak. She was a resident of Streetsboro, graduating from Streetsboro High School. On August 18, 1984 she married Kenneth I. Mills and the couple then moved from Ravenna to the Mantua-Shalersville area. The past 2 years, she was employed at Linde Gas Company in Independence as Assistant Benefits Administrator. Her prior employment included being employed for 17 years in the Payroll and Benefits Department at Revco in Twinsburg and also at Cole National for 5 years. Katrina enjoyed many things including watching Browns games, bowling, camping with family and friends, life, her pugs, and looked forward to family vacations in Myrtle Beach. She also was an avid supporter of her children in their school sports activities. She is survived by her devoted husband of 25 years Kenneth Mills, Sr., her loving sons Kenneth Mills, Jr. and (Lauren Ilenin) and Travis both of Mantua, her mother Regina Zelenak of Streetsboro, her sister Charlene (Richard) Ziska of Delray Beach, Florida, her brother John W. Zelenak of Streetsboro, her father and mother-in-law Robert D. and Henrietta Mills, Sr. of Rootstown, nephews John Zelenak, Jr. and Zack Zelenak. She was a loving sister-in-law and aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Katrina was preceded in death by her sister Laura Jean Zelenak in 2005 and her father John J. Zelenak in 2007. Calling hours will be Monday from 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where services will be held Tuesday September 29, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. with Mr. Robert Pratt officiating. Final resting place for Katrina will be at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville Township.
