Mrs. Argetsinger, Couderay Civic Leader, Dies

Mrs. Elmer Argetsinger, 69, Couderay, died Monday following a long illness.

Born Mabel Dorland in Chippewa Falls on Feb. 10, 1889, she received her education there and in 1904 was married to Elmer Argetsinger. The couple came to Iron River to make their home, later moving to Solon Springs, Radisson and to Couderay, where they purchased a farm which they kept up for many years. Mr. Argetsinger, rural mail carrier, preceded his wife in death in 1955.

Mrs. Argetsinger was a charter member of the Presbyterian Church at Couderay and was affiliated with the Royal Neighbors of America. She took an active part in church and civic events of the community.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jerry Parkos of Minneapolis, Mrs. Harvey Willy of St. Paul; three sons, Elmer of Park River, N.D., John of Klamath Falls, Ore., Ray of Couderay; one sister, Mrs. Irene Bulou, St. Paul; 13 grandchildren.

The body is in state at the Anderson Funeral Chapel until Friday, when it will be removed to the Couderay Presbyterian Church for services at 2 p.m. The Rev. Harold C. Stark will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot in Couderay Cemetery.
