Dina was educated at home and in the public schools of Dane County. After her marriage to Torger she served as a capable and hospitable housewife and an efficient helper in the parish work of her husband. After the death of her husband, she shared the home of her son Rev. A. J. Torgerson, a Lutheran minister. They had seven children: Jacob, Laurentius, Augustinus, Wilhelm, Jacob, Thomas and Abel
