Berniece (Frueh) Schooler was born on June 13, 1921 in Afton, IO to a farming family. She was one of 12 children.
On Sept. 5, 1942, Berniece married her childhood sweetheart, Everett (Gene) Schooler, who lived on a neighboring farm. They were married 67 years!
They moved from Maryville, MO to Colorado Springs, CO, in 1954. Berniece lovingly raised 5 children. She also worked at Hewlett Packard in the silk screening department for 25 years.
In her spare time she liked to sew, crochet, work on puzzles, and paint ceramics. She enjoyed playing bridge, bingo, and going to events to watch her grandchildren. She took great satisfaction in helping others, and always showed appreciation for the help she received.
Berniece is survived by her five children, Terry (Barbara) Schooler, Joyce (Ron DeJesus) Schooler, Connie (Tom) Goodwin, Karen (Neil Utz) Schooler, Mike (Susan) Schooler.
She is also survived by six grandchildren, Timothy, Christopher and Todd Schooler, Jessica (Utz) Barnett, Kendall Utz, Ashli (Schooler) Willis, her sister, Maxine Byrd, and brothers, Bernard, Richard, and Raymond Frueh, of Maryville, MO.
