C. Hazel Nelson, 94, of La Crosse, died at Bethany Riverside on Monday, March 8, 1999. She was born June 9, 1904, in Norwegian Valley, Town of Nelson, Buffalo Co., Wis., to Tom and Rachel Brommer. She married Melvin Nelson on September 24, 1930. He preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Richard (Linda) Nelson, of La Crosse; a sister, Anga Lukas, of Minneapolis; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, and three brothers. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Lyster Lutheran Church, rural Nelson, Wis. The Reverend Michael Vetsch will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 1425 Jackson Street, on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service.
