Pioneer Resident Dies in Richmond
Mrs. Nancy Muller, better known to
her acquaintances in Bakersfield as
Nancy Bowen, a pioneer resident of
the county, passed away last night at
Richmond at the age of 64, after an
illness lasting nearly two years.
Mrs. Muller crossed the plains with
several other families by wagon in
1876. The family settled in Kernville,
but after a number of years moved to
East Bakersfield. In 1900 they moved
to Richmond and Mrs. Muller has
lived there since.
Three sons and one daughter survive
the deceased. They are Frank
and Will Bowen of Richmond, Kain
Bowen of Oklahoma and Mrs. Cully
Hull of Riverbank. Interment will
be made in this city at some date yet
to be set.
