Nobility, daughter of Wilhelm V and Amalie von Hanau. She married Karl I Ludwig as his first wife in 1650 and bore him three children. Their marraige was very unhappy and Karl Ludwig divorced her in 1657 to marry his long time mistress Luise von Degenfeld. Charlotte did not return to Kassel at first. She lived until 1662 in a wing of the castle of Heidelberg, hoping that Karl would return to her. She only returned to Kassel after Karls death.
