CAMDEN POINT, Mo. - Ethel "Jean" Porter, 91, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012, at her home in Camden Point.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Vaughn-Aufranc Funeral Home, in Dearborn, Mo. A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at the Camden Point Cemetery.
The family suggests contributions be given to the Camden Point Cemetery Association.
Jean was born January 13, 1921, in Dearborn, to Lance and Nellie May (Davis) Chesnut. She was a lifelong resident of the Dearborn and Camden Point area. Jean was a member of the Camden Point Christian Church. She married Joy Raymond Porter on December 14, 1940, in Platte City, Mo. Jean was a homemaker, who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling, riding the OATS bus, and loved the scenery of the Rocky Mountains.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two infant brothers; and her sisters, Fern Allen Grable and Maurine Roberts.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Geyer of Lawrence, Kan. and Judy Foster, and her husband, Bill, of Camden Point; her son, Glen Porter, and his wife, Marcia, of Easton, Mo.; six grandchildren, Lance (Kathy) Foster, Abby (Brian) Eiken, Andrea (Don) Hensley, Mindy Porter, Angela (Barry) Sanborn, and Adam (Kristin) Geyer; and seven great-grandchildren, Morgan Eiken, Kate and Rachel Foster, Spencer Hensley, Tara Sanborn, and Canaan and Kamden Geyer.
