MR. BEN MOSELEY DIES LAST FRIDAY

In the death of Mr. Ben A. Moseley, which occurred at his home near Godfrey Friday night of last week, Morgan county lost one of its most estimable and honorable citizens. Mr. Moseley had been in failing health for some months prior to his death, having suffered a stroke of paralysis some time ago.

He was born and reared at the old Moseley home, and has resided therein all his life. He was 72 years of age, and from early boyhood a member of the Baptist church, of which at Antioch he had been deacon and treasurer for more that fifty years. Strong and self-reliant, of vigorous personal strength and loyal, splendid character, he was recognized as the leading citizens of his community for many years, and enjoyed an acquaintance widespread and loyal held only by a few men.

He is survived by his widow, two sons, Messrs. Asa Marshall and Benjamin A. Moseley, Jr., two daughters, Mrs. Mary Gatewood McClure, Madison, and Miss Margaret Moseley of Godfrey. Also two brothers, Messrs. A.S. and J.B. Moseley, of Greensboro, and four sisters, Mrs. B.A. Baldwin, Macon, Mrs. Leila M. Baynes, Greensboro, Mrs. A.J. Bonner and Miss Gussie Moseley, Madison.

Funeral services were held from Antioch church on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Scott Patterson, assisted by Rev. W. S. Adams. A large crowd of sorrowing friends and relatives attended the last rites of this splendid citizen and friend, with interment in the churchyard nearby. Hemperley Undertaking Co. had charge of funeral arrangements.
