Jimmy Barksdale, 58, of Rogersville, Ala., died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at his residence.The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at Twin Oaks Funeral Home Chapel, Rogersville, with burial in Romine Cemetery. Larry Wilson will be officiating. Survivors include his wife, Leslie Barksdale; one daughter, Tracy Sharp, three sons, David Barksdale, James Barksdale and Jereld Barksdale, all of Rogersville; three brothers, JD Barksdale (deceased), Larry Barksdale of Florida and Ralph Barksdale of Texas; two sisters, Clara Rackley and Mary Ruth Hyde, both of Tuscumbia, Ala.; six grandchildren, Wesley Killen, Haley Barksdale, Dustin Barksdale, Jason Barksdale, Trenton Sharp, Jarod Barksdale. Jim was a resident of Rogersville, Ala., for 20 years and owned and operated B&B Auto Repair, Rogersville. Reported in Florence Times Daily on November 4, 2001.
Jim was an auto mechanic by trade. He enjoyed round track racing and demolition derby racing. He worked on them but had no interest in driving in the races. He was a quiet man most of the time and dearly loved his family. Won the hearts and friendship of all that knew him.
