Adeline Waters, age 90, New Castle resident, passed away Monday, February 8, 2010 at Heritage House Convalescent Center in New Castle, following a brief illness.
She was born March 6, 1919 in New Castle, IN, the daughter of the late Oliver and Estella Bussell. She was a lifelong resident of Henry County and had graduated at Mt. Summit High School.
Adeline was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a Foster Grandparent for several years and was the last of 10 children. She was a talented seamstress and made custom draperies for McCormick-Hammer Home Decorators from 1957-1962, before opening her own drapery service. She also loved music and gave guitar lessons for several years.
Adeline is survived by one daughter, Carolyn K. Baker of New Castle; one son, Charles W. (Susan) Waters of New Castle; two grandsons: David Waters and Danny (Sarah) Waters, both of New Castle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence E. Waters in 1976; five brothers; and four sisters.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Reverend Tom McGilliard officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
