Elizabeth O. (Bacon) Metcalf, 73, of 242 West St., died Thursday at Mary Lane Hospital. She leaves two sons, Lyle T. Metcalf of Ware and Robert W. Metcalf of Muskogee, Okla.; three sisters, Phyllis McCarthy of Ware, Loretta Archambault of Westfield and Olive King of Warren; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Her husband, Albert W. Metcalf, died Jan. 10. She was born in Ware, daughter of Charles E. and Henrietta (Abare) Bacon. Mrs. Metcalf worked many years for the Seven Sisters Dress Shop, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the United Church of Ware. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Quabbin Park Cemetery. The Rev. Bruce Prestwood-Taylor will officiate. Calling hours at Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., are 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
