Phyllis B. (Bacon) McCarthy, 90, of 5 Church St. was stricken ill and died Saturday night in her home. Her husband, E. Henry McCarthy, died in 1969. She leaves a daughter, Phyllis Pechon of Portland, Conn.; two sisters, Lauretta Archambault of Westfield and Olive King of Warren; and two grandchildren. She was born in Jefferson, daughter of Charles L. and Henrietta (Abare) Bacon, and lived here most of her life. Mrs. McCarthy was an accountant at Petracone & Son Oil Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1984. She previously worked at several other companies. She was a communicant of All Saints Church, and a member and a past prefect of its Rosary Sodality. She was a member aad past regent of Ware Circle, Daughters of Isabella, and past international officer of the Daughters of Isabella. She was former treasurer of the Ware Democratic Town Committee, and was once director of the executive council of the Democratic Committee serving Hampshire, Franklin, Hampden and Worcester counties. The funeral will be held Thursday from Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, North Street. Burial will be in New St. William's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
