His siblings were: Luke, Elizabeth, Cynthia, Sophronia, Paulina, William Phelps, Joseph Langdon and Simeon Dewey III
And he was half brother of Seneca Dewey.
In the records of the town of Hanover, New Hampshire, 1761-1818 we can read records of town meetings and of the selectmen where, according to a relevant poll shown on page 296, Jesse owned 3 horses, 3 cows, 2 arable land, 100 carriages, 30 buildings.
