Miss Mary E. Green was born at Apple River, IL, May 9, 1868, and died in Richland, S.D., May 22, 1909. From early childhood she resided on a farm near Tripoli, IA., until she was united in marriage to C.G. Schwem on December 27, 1888. Eight years after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Schwem came to Codington County, S.D., and lived here until the time of the death of Mrs. Schwem.
The departed leaves a husband and six daughters to mourn her death, and her father and numerous other relatives, who reside in Iowa. She was a devoted wife and a fond and loving mother, and always ready to help one in the time of need. In the midst of a profusion of flowers whe was laid to rest at Mount Hope cemetery.
