Robert Warren Compton (1871-1921) was the son of Nancy Aveline Iles Compton and Dr. James McCain Compton. He married Etha Cook in 1909 and they had three children: Clay, Edna, and Marvin Compton. He taught school and farmed. Robert became ill suddenly and went to the home of his sister, Sudie Compton Newton, in Bexar County to seek medical treatment. He passed away in San Antonio,Texas on March 13, 1921 and his interment was March 14, 1921 in Mission Burial Park South. His death certificate listed his date of birth as April 8, 1892, however the correct year was 1871. He passed away at 49 years, 11 months, and 5 days of age. He died of kidney failure. His older brother, John F. Compton, of Poteet was listed as the informant on R. W. Compton's death certificate. His younger sister, Alice Compton Smith, was living in Mooringsport, LA at the time of his death. All his siblings are listed on F.A.G. and linked to their parents. Robert's grave has no headstone.
