Donald E. Barton, 73, of Hector, AR, died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at his home in Hector, AR.
He was a retired farmer, and former employee of Ralston Purina, Hackney Ladish, and a bus driver for the Hector Schools. Donald was a member of Hector First Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.E. Barton, his in-laws, Thurman and Gertrue Hill; a sister, Ailene Boggs, and a grandson, Channing Barton.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane Barton; four sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Terri, Kenny and Stephanie, Ricky and Sandy, Stacy and Traci; 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a brother, Ellis Barton of Wichita, KS; 2 sisters, Druscilla Hays of Appleton, and Lucine Shiflett of Rogers.
Funeral will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Hector First Assembly of God Church. Reverend Randy Davis, Reverend Charlie McAlister, and Pastor Shane Williams will officiate. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery at Hector, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be Roger Lay, B.J. McAlister, Dickey Barnett, Davis Riddle, Tommy Hill and Tim Hill.
Honorary pallbearers will be Employees of Ralston Purina, Hackney Ladish, and Hector School.
