Sue Kennedy Chittum, 91, of the 7300 block of Glenroie Ave., Norfolk, and formerly of Chesapeake, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, in a Norfolk hospital. Mrs. Chittum wsa born in Staunton, VA, and was the daughter of the late John Arthur and Kerah Carter Kennedy. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Chesapeake. She was a graduate of Templeton Business College and taught in Augusta County and later in old Norfolk County. She was an avid bridge player and held a Life Masters with the American Contract Bridge League. Her other memberships include: Norfolk Yacht and Country Club, Norfolk, and Duck Woods Country Club, Southern Shores, N.C. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Edwin Wilson Chittum of Norfolk; her two daughters, Dr. Susan Lynne Chittum and her husband, Dr. Robert Hallmark, both of Virginia Beach, and Carol Anne Chittum of Norfolk; and two sisters, Isabel Sutton of Richmond and Hilda Firebough and her husband, Marshall, of Harrisonburg, VA. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge. Memorial donations may be made to the Eastern VA Medical School, 358 Mowbray Arch, Norfolk, VA 23510.
