The month of Amanda's birth date on the tombstone is incorrect according to her family Bible and her death certificate. She was born in April instead of August. She was one of triplets and all three of the triplet sister's death certificates give the same birth date of April 11, 1854. Her obituary gives her age of 63 years, 3 months, and 3 days which also proves her correct birth date.

Amanda, the daughter of Philip Whisenhunt and Mary "Polly" Abernathy, married Jones Pinkney Seitz Dec. 7, 1877 in Catawba Co., NC. Jones Pinkney Seitz was the son of Levi Seitz and Susan Engeline Delitha Ward. Ten children were born to them: Raymond Theodore, Carrie Mae, Lillie Alice, Philip Levi "Lee", Nettie Aldah, Effie Beata, Hettie Pearl, John Leslie, Grace Ethel, and Clara Blanche Seitz.

West Hickory Pastorate - Rev. W. A. Deaton, Pastor

On July 14th, Mrs. Amanda Levina Seitz, wife of J. P. Seitz, Esq., fell asleep in Jesus at the age of 63 years, 3 months, and 3 days. Mrs. Seitz was a daughter of Philip and Polly Whisenhunt and was married to J. P. Seitz and became the mother of ten children, three sons and seven daughters, nine of whom survive her, one having died in infancy. A remarkable incident in her life was that she was one of triplets, all of whom lived to be over 60 years old. She was baptized at Holy Trinity after her marriage by Dr. J. C. Moser and later transferred to Bethany in West Hickory. The funeral was held from Zion Church by her pastor and assisted by the pastor of Zion, Rev. W. D. Holtiwanger and her body was laid to rest in Zion cemetery.
