Laura Permelia Johnson Miller was born near Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on the 12th day of August 1858; and was the oldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Johnson. In the early 60's the Johnson family removed to Minnesota and located in Eden township, Brown county, where the subject of our sketch figured among the early settlers in the Lone Tree country. On December 15, 1874, the deceased was united in marriage to G. M. Miller, who was also a resident of Eden Township. From this union there were born four children four of whom are living. They are Mrs. Albert Weber of McGregor, Minn., Wm. Miller of near Franklin, Mrs. Joseph Anderson of White Earth, N. Dak., and Herbert Miller who resides on the home farm at McGregor.
Ever since her marriage Mrs. Miller resided in both Brown and Redwood counties, with exception of two years residence in Kansas, until the summer of 1902 when the family located at McGregor where they have since made their home. Besides her husband and four children the deceased leaves to mourn her loss one brother and three sisters: George Johnson of Sleepy Eye, Mrs. M. S. Tolman and Mrs. C. H. Porter of Morgan and Mrs. Julian Johnson of Hillsboro, Oregon.
The funeral was held from the Presbyterian church Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Internment was made in the family lot in the Lone Tree cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Kiracofe.
